Diagnostic Radiology

Visiting a chiropractor for back or neck pain does not necessarily mean you immediately start a treatment plan. Chiropractic care requires careful evaluation of your specific needs and goals. Our chiropractor. Dr. Stetzel, uses appropriate diagnostic radiography to evaluate your situation and then make an appropriate plan of action to help address your pain and discomfort.

X-Rays

X-rays refer to a type of radioactive imaging used by medical professionals to diagnose specific health concerns. Generally, our chiropractor uses it to look at your bones and the internal complications causing pain or discomfort throughout your body.

Since different tissues in the body appear different on the x-ray, our chiropractor uses the information and our knowledge of the human skeletal system to determine if the pain stems from a cracked bone, a herniated spine or other complications with your skeletal system. He also looks at the muscles to determine when the problem stems from your muscular system rather than your skeletal system.

Why Our Chiropractor Uses an X-Ray

Myovision 3G Wirefree Scanvision

The purpose of performing testing at your initial evaluation is to assess the state of physiologic function of your spine that cannot be seen on x-ray. The Myovision 3G uses Surface Electromyography (a SEMG Scan) which assesses the electrical current in the muscles. Your muscles are controlled by nerves. The SEMG measures how well the motor nerves are working by reading the amount of current in the muscles.

Why Our Chiropractor Uses MyoVision

Spinal Subluxations disturb nerve flow and cause an abnormal amount of electrical current to flow to your muscles. Additionally, altered spinal position or brain function creates muscle imbalance. This reveals an increased amount of tension/pull on one side compared to the other (similar to a tug of war.) Pre and Post Scans are taken to help measure the progress of the chiropractic care in your spine, and your spine’s ability to adapt to life’s stresses.
