Meet Dr. Carla Freeman
A Passion for People
Dr. Carla Freeman didn’t choose chiropractic because it seemed like a good career. She chose it because it gave her her life back — and she’s spent every year since doing the same for others.
Many people come to Breathe Chiropractic when they’ve exhausted every other option and quietly stopped believing things could get better. Restoring that hope — and watching patients’ lives open back up when their health returns — is what drives everything Dr. Carla does.
The Road to Chiropractic
Dr. Carla’s journey into healing began with her own pain.
As a child, she was hit by a car. What seemed like a recovered injury left a long shadow — contributing to years of chronic pain, fatigue, depression, and weight gain that followed her into adulthood. Conventional medicine managed her symptoms. Nothing resolved them.
Then, in her late twenties, she discovered chiropractic care and subsequently, Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique, or B.E.S.T. — and everything changed. Not just physically. Her energy returned. Her mood lifted. The weight she’d carried for years — in every sense — began to release.
She didn’t just want to feel better. She needed to understand why it worked. And once she did, she knew exactly what she was meant to do.
In 2006, Dr. Carla opened her B.E.S.T. practice. Rooted in chiropractic principles and neurology, B.E.S.T. uses a non-force technique that aligns the brain and body — allowing the nervous system to release stored stress and restore the body’s own healing capacity. Over time, she found herself wanting to go deeper — to offer her patients even more. So she enrolled at Life University and earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2015.
A Chicago native who was long overdue for some sunshine, she opened her Scottsdale practice that same year. After eight years there, she brought her practice to Uptown Phoenix — and in 2025, became the proud steward of Breathe Chiropractic , carrying forward the legacy of the deeply loved Dr. Mike Solomon, who served this community for nearly 20 years.
Dr. Carla has published chiropractic research and holds the following certifications:
- Elite Master certification in B.E.S.T.
- Certification in Neuro-Emotional Techniques (NET)
- Certified by the International College of Applied Kinesiology
- Certified in Webster technique
Empathy and Compassion
Because Dr. Carla has lived with chronic pain — and found her way out of it — she understands in her bones what her patients are carrying when they walk through the door. The helplessness. The frustration of being told everything looks normal. The quiet grief of a life lived smaller than it should be.
Breathe Chiropractic is not a cookie-cutter office. Dr. Carla has built it to be the kind of place where patients feel at home in their healing — where they are truly heard, genuinely accepted, and never rushed toward a protocol that doesn’t fit them. Where hope isn’t just offered. It’s restored.
She also understands something that surprises many new patients: it’s often an acute injury or crisis that first brings someone through the door — and that same crisis becomes the turning point toward a whole new relationship with their health. Chiropractic care isn’t just for pain. It’s one of the most powerful tools we have for aging well, staying vital, and building a life that keeps getting better.
Enjoying Life
Outside the office, Dr. Carla is happily married to her husband, Greg. She loves hiking, reading, and volunteering in the community — and whenever possible, traveling and spending time with her three adult children. She is a passionate advocate for love at any age, genuine connection, and living life fully in a body that feels good.
