Massage Therapy in Phoenix
Not just relaxation. Real, clinical results — for your body and your nervous system.

Massage therapy at Breathe Chiropractic is built around one idea: your muscles and your nervous system are in constant conversation. When one is stuck, the other pays the price. Our therapeutic massage targets the areas of chronic tension, guarding, and overuse that interfere with healing — releasing what’s held so your whole body can finally move the way it’s meant to.
Whether you’re here for massage as part of a comprehensive care plan or simply because your body is asking for attention — you’re in the right place. Our therapists meet you exactly where you are.

Our Massage Modalities
We offer a full range of therapeutic massage techniques, each selected based on what your body needs:
Swedish Massage — Gentle, flowing strokes that promote full-body relaxation, improve circulation, and activate your parasympathetic nervous system — the state where healing actually happens.
Deep Tissue Massage — Targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to address chronic tension, postural strain, and areas of stubborn pain that surface-level work can’t reach.
Sports Massage — Designed for active bodies — whether you’re a competitive athlete or someone who simply demands a lot from their body. Supports faster recovery, better performance, and long-term physical resilience.
Prenatal Massage — Safe, nurturing, and deeply supportive during pregnancy. Addresses back pain, hip discomfort, swelling, sleep difficulties, and the particular physical demands of carrying a growing baby. Performed by therapists trained in prenatal care.
Myofascial Release — Works with the fascial system — the connective tissue that surrounds every muscle, bone, and organ — to release restrictions that contribute to chronic pain, limited mobility, and postural imbalances. Gentle but profoundly effective.
How Massage Supports Your Whole Care Plan
Tight, guarded muscles pull your spine and joints back out of alignment — which is one of the reasons adjustments don’t always hold as long as we’d like in the early stages of care. Massage releases that muscular holding, helping your body accept and maintain structural corrections more effectively.
Many patients also find that therapeutic massage supports the emotional and nervous system work done through NET and chiropractic care. By softening physical tension, massage creates space for the body to integrate changes at a deeper level — leaving patients feeling not just physically lighter, but calmer and more grounded.
Massage pairs equally well with acupuncture. Both work with the body’s regulatory systems — acupuncture through energy pathways and organ function, massage through the muscular and fascial layers that hold tension and restrict flow. Together they address the body from two complementary directions, and patients who combine the two often notice that each session lands more deeply than it would alone.
When massage, chiropractic, and acupuncture are part of the same care plan, the results compound. Each treatment makes the others more effective — and your body gets more from every visit.

What to Expect at Your First Massage Visit
Your first massage at Breathe begins before you ever get on the table.
When you arrive, your therapist will take a few minutes to sit with you and understand what’s going on in your body — where you’re holding tension, what you’ve been dealing with, what you want from the session, and whether there are any areas that need extra care or should be avoided entirely. This isn’t a formality. It’s how we make sure every session is actually tailored to you rather than a generic routine applied to whoever walked in.
From there, your therapist will select the techniques and pressure that match what your body needs that day — which may be different from what it needs next time. Swedish and deep tissue, myofascial release, focused trigger point work, or a combination — the approach is always responsive, never scripted.
During the session, you are always in control. If the pressure is too much or not enough, if something doesn’t feel right, or if you simply want to adjust — say so. Your therapist will adapt immediately and without judgment. Nothing continues without your comfort.
Most patients leave their first session feeling a combination of deeply relaxed and surprisingly aware of their body — noticing tension they didn’t realize they were carrying, or feeling a lightness they hadn’t felt in a while. Some experience mild muscle soreness in the 24 hours following a deeper session, particularly if significant tension was addressed — this is a normal healing response and typically resolves quickly.
A few practical things:
👕 Wear or bring comfortable clothing you can change out of easily. You will be draped throughout your session, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered at any time.
🚗 Free parking is right outside our door at 1130 E Missouri Ave, Suite 402, Phoenix AZ 85014.
⏱ Arrive a few minutes early for your first visit, so we have time to talk before your session begins — your scheduled massage time starts when you get on the table, not when you walk in the door.
📋 If you’re a new patient, your intake form will be sent by email and text after booking. Completing it beforehand helps your therapist prepare specifically for you.

Prenatal Massage
Pregnancy asks an enormous amount of a body — and most people don’t get nearly enough support through it. Our prenatal massage is safe, nurturing, and specifically adapted to the changing needs of your body at every stage of pregnancy. We address the back pain, hip and pelvic discomfort, swelling, and postural strain that come with carrying a growing baby — and just as importantly, we support the nervous system regulation and deep rest that are harder to come by the further along you get. During the third trimester in particular, when physical discomfort and anticipatory stress are both at their peak, regular massage can make a meaningful difference in how you feel day to day and how prepared your body is for labor. Our therapists are trained in prenatal positioning and technique — you are in safe, experienced hands from the first session.
Massage for ADHD and Autism — Children and Adults
For people with ADHD and autism spectrum conditions, the nervous system is often working overtime — processing sensory input, managing hyperarousal, and holding physical tension in ways that are easy to overlook and hard to release on your own. Therapeutic massage offers something that’s difficult to find elsewhere: a consistent, safe, and structured physical experience that helps regulate the nervous system from the outside in.
Our therapists work with both children and adults with ADHD and autism using approaches adapted to individual sensory needs and comfort levels. Nothing is ever rushed or forced. For many patients in this population, regular massage supports sensory regulation and reduces the anxiety and hyperarousal that make daily life more exhausting than it needs to be. It improves body awareness — the sense of where your body is in space, which is often disrupted in neurodivergent nervous systems. It supports deeper, more consistent sleep. And it releases the chronic muscle tension that builds up from stimming, physical guarding, and the sustained effort of navigating a world that wasn’t designed for how your nervous system works.
For children, especially, massage can be a gentle introduction to body-based care that builds trust, reduces sensory defensiveness over time, and gives parents a tangible tool for supporting regulation outside of the office. For adults, it’s often one of the first things that has ever made their nervous system feel genuinely quiet.
